The competition will generate an impact of 1.115 million euros and attract 2.5 million spectators to the Catalan capital. However, the teams participating in the America’s Cup are expected to spend a total of 231 million euros.

The organisation’s investment totals 118 million euros and a further 77 million euros in operating costs. The competition and the Generalitat de Catalunya signed a collaboration agreement that seeks to promote the nautical sector in Catalonia.
